"The graduate development program is a great way to start your career with Synergy. As a graduate who is new to the business world, the graduate development program provides an excellent opportunity to dive in and learn about the entire business. During my two years in the program, I was able to work at three locations: Wauconda, Hamilton, and High Wycombe. These experiences were pivotal in my progression in R&D, as each location has different perspectives, technologies, and expertise. Spending time in each location and working with different groups allowed me to rapidly grow my skill set and expand the way that I think about projects and solutions."

‘’My first exposure to Synergy was through a 6-month work placement as part of my undergraduate degree in Food Science and Technology, at our parent company, Carbery. Following the completion of my PhD in Dairy Chemistry, I was offered a place on the Synergy Graduate Development Program. As part of my development, I spent extended periods working in Europe (Ireland & UK) and the US (Ohio & Illinois) in various roles within Research & Development. At each location I worked on a diverse and exciting range of projects and was heavily integrated into all facets of the business. I was constantly challenged which enabled me to grow on both a personal and professional basis. Synergy truly is a world class organization which operates at the forefront of science and technology. The skills and knowledge I gained during my time on the Graduate Development Program have proven to be invaluable in my current role as US Research Manager.’’

"Synergy’s graduate development program was a great experience. I started my program in Hamilton, Ohio, where I worked on projects ranging from improving production, scaling up new products, and trialing new materials to process. I had to interact with production, engineering, R&D, management, and customers. This developed my ability to work together with multiple departments to complete projects. I even operated the pilot plant, which helped me understand the process and technology. After Hamilton, I went to Wauconda, Illinois, working on projects revolving around improving the manufacturing processes and helping to build a new office facility. The engineering projects increased my abilities as an engineer. I had to trouble shoot and solve process problems.

The greatest parts about the program were the employees and the range of experience gained. Synergy employees were always welcoming and eager to teach even when they had busy schedules. Synergy's Graduate Program provided opportunities to experience a variety of roles to help decide which career path I want to pursue. Throughout the whole program, there was never a moment when I wasn’t learning or developing. "
