Synergy Flavors Builds 14th School in Madagascar’s Vanilla Region

Wauconda, Ill. – Synergy Flavors, a leading supplier of flavors, extracts and essences for the global food and beverage industry, is proud to announce the completion of a new primary school in Alananambe, located in Madagascar’s SAVA region. This marks the 14th school funded by Synergy in partnership with the Madagascar Development Fund (MDF), continuing a shared commitment to education and community development in vanilla-growing regions.

The newly constructed school in Alananambe will provide essential educational infrastructure for local children, offering increased capacity and improved learning conditions. Equipped with desks, benches, and dedicated classrooms, the facility is designed to foster a safe and inspiring environment for students and teachers alike.

“This milestone reflects our ongoing dedication to enriching lives in the communities we serve,” said Rod Sowders, CEO and President of Synergy Flavors. “Education is a powerful tool for change, and we are honored to support the children of Alananambe as they build brighter futures. Our partnership with MDF continues to be a source of pride and purpose for our organization.”

Since 2016, Synergy Flavors and MDF have collaborated to fund and construct schools across the SAVA region, home to many of Madagascar’s vanilla farmers. Each project is carried out in close coordination with local authorities and community members, ensuring long-term sustainability and local ownership.

The inauguration of the Alananambe school will be celebrated with community leaders, educators, and families, highlighting the transformative impact of education and the strength of partnership.
